Floris and Sander of VK Makelaars helped us tremendously with buying a house in Haarlem. Over few years we have dealt with several makelaars in Haarlem, but the way VK Makelaars works stood out to us for many good reasons. They are superb in “the basics” of being a good service provider: always quick to reply, answer any question, have a meeting at very short notice. They are very friendly and humane and not see you as a money caw (unfortunately, a typical attitude among Makelaars towards expats) and not trying to sell you what you really do not need. The most exceptional about them is, however, their proactiveness and professionalism when dealing with any question you might have. If, for example, you would have a very very very specific question about a particular house (technical or concerning the neighbourhood, or resale potential) – the question will be taken very seriously, they would proactively research the issue inside their makelaar or technical experts network – to inform you the best and let you decide what to do next. I have not seen such a professional proactive and very knowledgeable attitude at any other Makelaar house, to be honest. And I am not a novice to Netherlands. This is especially impressive given that their fees are not as high as at many other Makelaar houses in Haarlem. No doubt, if ever any of my friends/colleagues look for a house in Haarlem, I would direct them to VK Makelaars for an exceptional support. I am sure they will not regret!
